In modern residential design, glass is everywhere.
From expansive living room windows to bathroom partitions, it creates a sense of openness, allows natural light to flow, and enhances the overall look of a home. But while glass brings in light and visual appeal, it also introduces different challenges depending on where and how it’s used. Because not all spaces need the same kind of performance.
For this residential project in Ayala Alabang, the goal wasn’t just to install window film—it was to match each space with the right solution, balancing comfort, privacy, and protection throughout the home.
A Layered Approach to Comfort and Function
Each area of the home had its own requirement. Instead of applying a single type of film across all glass surfaces, we carefully selected different films based on how each space is used.
For Bright, Open Living Spaces
The living room featured high-ceiling glass exposed to direct sunlight—making heat and glare a primary concern. To address this, Super Ultra 50 (VLT 50) was installed. It allows a balanced amount of natural light to enter while significantly reducing heat and UV exposure. The result is a space that stays bright, but far more comfortable throughout the day.
For Everyday Comfort Upstairs
On the second floor, maintaining brightness was equally important—but with a lighter, more open feel. Here, Crystal Sky (VLT 70) was the ideal choice. With higher visible light transmission, it keeps interiors airy and well-lit, while still providing strong heat and UV rejection for improved comfort.
For Safety in Wet Areas
Glass in wet areas like showers requires a different kind of protection. To reinforce durability and minimize risk, Safety Film was applied to shower glass panels. This adds an extra layer of protection, helping hold the glass together in case of impact—an important feature for everyday safety.
For Full Privacy in Bathrooms
Privacy is essential in more intimate spaces like bathrooms. For areas requiring complete discretion, White Matte Decorative Film was installed. Its fully frosted finish blocks visibility while still allowing natural light to pass through, keeping the space bright without exposure.
For Soft, Balanced Privacy
In other bathroom areas, a softer approach was preferred. Snow White Film provides a subtle blurred effect—offering privacy while still maintaining a sense of depth and light. It’s a balance between openness and discretion, ideal for spaces that don’t require full concealment.
